Colorado Masters Swimming Association

United States Masters Swimming (USMS) is a national organization that provides organized swim practices, competitions, and clinics for adults 18 and over. USMS is open to all swimmers (fitness, triathlete, competitive and non-competitive) who want to improve their fitness and swimming technique.

COMSA the Local Masters Swimming Committee (LMSC) is charged with regulating all masters swimming activities in the states of Colorado and Wyoming.

2013 USMS Speedo One Hour Postal National Championship Results are in! Thanks to all the CMS swimmers who participated in the One Hour Postal Championships in January. CMS placed 2nd in the small clubs category combined! Look for more postal swims this summer under the Calendar.

Splits 101
Swimmers - if you would like your initial splits as part of a longer individual event to be submitted for records or Top 10 times, you must notify the referee, IN WRITING, PRIOR to the conclusion of the meet. However, for BACKSTROKE initial splits and RELAY leadoff legs to count, notification must be made PRIOR TO THE SWIM. A "Split Notification Form" is available from meet officials and online at USMS.org; For Volunteers; Rule book; Appendix B.

The Lou Parker COMSA Coach of the Year and the Jack Buchannan COMSA Service Award will be awarded at the State Meet in April. Please nominate your outstanding coach or dedicated volunteer by March 15. Download the nomination form (pdf).

USA Swim Meets and Your Times
Master swimmers who swim in USA meets and want their times to be included in the Top Ten times sent to USMS need to make sure the pools in which they compete are certified (have been properly measured) and if the pool has a bulkhead, the pool is re-measured before the meet and after each session.
